I actually tried to take this the easy way when I was doing my own denim upcycle. I jumped down the rabbit hole looking for fringed and frayed, slow stitch patches. Let me tell you there are a lot of mediocre patches out there but nothing with the personal touches that I was looking for. And honestly, if you’re going to spend that much time and love upcycling don’t you want it to be perfect? so… days later and probably more hours that I care to admit… we have the start of a whole new line to add to baileywicks.
